2 cups graham crackers crumbs
*1 tablespoon ground flax seed
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 can low-fat condensed milk (30 ml)
1-1/3 cup chopped pecans or dried fruits (used walnuts & slivered almonds)
1-1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate bars (used 60% dark chocolate)
1-1/3 cup flaked coconut
Combine graham crumbs with butter, press evenly onto parchment paper-lined about 13 by 9 inch baking pan.
Pour low-fat condensed milk evenly over crumb crust.
Sprinkle with pecans, chocolate chips and coconut, press down firmly. Bake in a 350 F oven for 25-30 minutes or until lightly brown. Let it cool thoroughly and cut into bars. Makes 24 bars.
* I got this recipe from the Metro newspaper . If you’re allergic to peanuts you can substitute it w/dried fruits. Instead of using pecans I substitute it with walnuts and slivered almonds. I added ground flax seed into the graham crackers crumbs. This is the answer for my sweet tooth craving. Who would not love coconut, nuts and chocolate?! enJOY!!!
