Spicy Haricot Vert with Garlic and Slivered Almonds


1/2 pound Haricot Vert, ends trimmed
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoon slivered almonds
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon Oyster sauce
1/4 cup water or chicken broth
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
salt and pepper to taste

Saute garlic with olive oil add slivered almonds and cook for 2 minutes. Add Haricot vert, oyster sauce, red pepper flakes and chicken broth. Cook for 3-5 minutes add salt and pepper to taste. Serve with your favorite dish.

*This is my favorite of all the green beans.  I can understand  why the French like their beans.  You can just cook them with butter and salt and pepper or add something to make it your own.  For my version I added slivered almonds, oyster sauce and red pepper flakes. It is perfect for any side dish meat, poultry or fish. enJOY!!!
