Quinoa Sushi

Basic Ingredients:

Nori
toasted black and whit sesame seeds
1 cup sushi rice, cooked
1 cup quinoa, cooked
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon kosher salt


Mix cooked sushi rice and quiona.

Combine the rice vinegar, sugar and salt in a small bowl and heat in the
microwave on high for 30 to 45 seconds. Transfer the rice into a large wooden
or glass mixing bowl and add the vinegar mixture. Fold thoroughly to combine
and coat each grain of rice with the mixture. Fold in the toasted sesame
seeds. Allow to cool to room temperature before using to make sushi or
sashimi.

Spicy Crab Sushi:
Lump crab
mayonnaise
cayenne pepper
salt and Pepper
cucumber, cut into matchsticks
radish, cut into matchsticks

Mix crab and mayonnaise, add in cayenne pepper and season with salt and
pepper. Assemble sushi.

Wasabi Tuna Roll:
Ahi Tuna (must be sushi grade)
carrots, julline
green onion, cut into strips
wasabi paste

Assemble sushi with tuna, carrots, green onions and wasabi paste.

California Roll:
cucumber, cut into matchsticks
imitation crab
avocado slices

Assemble cucumber, imitaion crab and avocado slices.

*When I’m making sushi a rarely measure except when cooking the rice. I cut the ingredients I just go by how much I need. The most important thing in making sushi is make sure you cook your rice the proper way and season it well. For my twist I did half sushi rice and quinoa an then added the toasted sesame seeds.The fun of making sushi also you can make or put any ingredient you want. enJOY!!!
